Absence makes the heart grow fonder.....

So the other day I was asked by someone if I had a blog or anything where I could post what I had been up to and update people on what I am doing while I am in Tanzania.... which brings me home to this page!! It has been a while since I have posted so for any of you that had been dying with anticipation for the next post... I have finally succumbed!

There has been quite a lot which has happened since I last posted and among these things I am no longer going to Tanzania this week, but in January instead. This has been a blessing in disguise as I was not fully prepared and now feel that I have a lot more time to mentally and physically prepare myself for the work I am going to be doing out there.

Since I last posted, I did not have a quiz night, this was cancelled. And instead I had a coffee morning and another dear lady hosted a tea party to also raise funds for Tanzania. The two events combined along with donations raised an extra £700 and subsequently I have reached and exceeded my £1500 target!

Woohoooo!!!

I can not begin to explain how grateful I am to everybody who has contributed money, time and effort into my fundraising, and for everybody who has believed that I can do it when I have doubted myself. I have been blessed and encouraged by so many wonderful people in the last 6 months and am so appreciative of everything that has been done for me.

I also want to make a note to thank my mum for everything that she has done for me in supporting me and being so generous even when we have not always got along. My mum has paid for my flights to go to Tanzania and without her help I would not be going. It is thanks to my mum's dedication, drive, love and sheer compassion that all of this has been possible and I can not even begin to thank her enough for everything she has done.
